Stage 8

Plan for about 5.5 hours climbing out of the Bohinj valley toward Podbrdo on steep forest paths and open hillside. The Soča country is ahead; this stage marks the shift from Alpine lakes to serious mountain walking.

Podbrdo is tiny - a handful of houses where valleys meet. Arrange accommodation in advance; there is not much fallback if beds are full.
